This rare shot of the Old Chapel Library is dated 1905. It gives us a clear view of the vista to the North of the Chapel in the first decade of the Twentieth Century. Tree growth and the black wooden clock dials with the original gilded numerals and hands are visible as is the original flag staff. The horse drawn guns and caissons belonged to the Massachusetts Agricultural College Cadet Artillery. The guns are early breach loaders of the the Spanish American War era. This patriotic photo is from the era when M.A.C. students were required to salute faculty and staff!
