Glossary Tool

The Glossary Tool provides definitions of terms a student may encounter in the course. Entries can be made which include images, sound and video to enhance a description. At this time, the Glossary Tool only supports QuickTime and Real Media formats reliably.

Adding an Audio or Video Link to Glossary Entry

1. Navigate to a page inside the Content Module.
2. Choose Designer Options.
3. To add a glossary entry, choose Main Options | Glossary | Go. The Glossary screen appears.
4. Choose Add New Keyword to Glossary | Add a keyword | Go. The Add Keyword screen appears.
5. In the Keyword text box, type the keyword of the glossary entry.
6. In the Definition text box, type the description of the glossary entry.

Adding a Download Link (QuickTime)

1. To add a link to a download video, enter the following HTML coding: <embed src="course_id/"location and name of media file uploaded into WebCT">
   Example:
   <embed src="/tdugdale_video/download_qt_video.mov"></embed>
   Look in the example above for additional control commands.
2. Click Add.
