of WebCT and Standard Web Sites
Standard (Do It Yourself) Class Web Sites
-
Allows for flexibility in the design and development of
a Class Web site.
-
Allows you to customize the look and feel of the subject
matter you are teaching.
-
Enables you to post all information relevant to your course
in a variety of file formats including HTML pages, downloadable
Word and PDF documents, PowerPoint presentations, Flash, video
or audio files.
-
The Classes Web Server is in the public domain. This means,
anyone using a computer with a current Web browser can browse
to the Classes Web site.
Standard Web sites are recommended for instructors who want
more control over presentation of course content. Instructors
who feel comfortable using a computer and have an interest or
desire to learn about building Web sites are good candidates for
this option. Instructors who are teaching collaboratively or using
non-standard teaching practices are encouraged to
consider this option, as it is more accommodating for unique teaching
styles. Standard Web sites allows for greater flexibility, but
also increases your level of responsibility for creating/maintaining
Web pages.
