GETTING TO FIREFLIES
Fireflies Ashram and Intercultural Center is located in Dinnepalya Village, about 30 KM from Bangalore City. Click here for more detailed maps.
The nearest airport and railway station are those of Bangalore. Shuttle services will be made available to transport guests from the airport/railway station to their place of accommodation.
Alternatively, guests may use the services of prepaid taxis available at the airport and the railway station. This will bring you directly to Fireflies.
ACCOMMODATION
Congress2008 Panelists will be provided with boarding and lodging on the Fireflies premises. Hotels are also available nearby for those who do not wish to stay on Fireflies premises.
For those staying in Bangalore, shuttle services will be provided twice a day (once in the morning and once in the evening) between the hotel and Fireflies.

ABOUT FIREFLIES
The Fireflies Intercultural Centre holds regular workshops round the year on themes such as 'Religions and Ecology', 'Conflict-Resolution amidst Inter-religious Conflict', 'Water Conservation', 'Organic Farming', 'The Empowerment of Women in Poor Communities', 'Creative Literature and Personal/Social Meaning', 'Yoga', and 'Spirituality for Our Times.' The workshops bring together teachers, students, social workers, women, intellectuals, writers and businesspeople. In addition to discussions, participants also have the option to commune with nature, meditate, read poetry and explore personal and social journeys.
It has also organized international workshops dealing with development themes in Thailand, Philippines, Nepal, Japan, Australia and other countries. The first international planning meeting of the World Social Forum in India in the year 2001 was held at this centre. The meeting was convened by Mr. Siddhartha, Executive Trustee of Pipal Tree.
