Maxine Hanks is a feminist theologian, Gnostic clergy, mediator, and lecturer whose research area is
women's studies in religion. She has authored or co-authored books and articles on religious culture
and women's studies in religion. She was a fellow at Harvard Divinity School and research fellow
with the Utah Humanities Council. She has chaired Interfaith Week in Utah, and Utah Women in
Ministry, and serves on the Salt Lake Interfaith Roundtable, Utah Attorney General's Safety Net
Committee, and Utah Senator Orrin Hatch's Women's Council.
